Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today expressed his sorrow over the loss of lives in Uttar Pradesh railway accidents,and led the Ministry of Railways to use all available means of rescue and relief efforts in the region.
Singh also told the Minister of State for Railways about the incident.
"The prime minister has expressed shock and grief at the loss of lives caused by the accident Malwa station Kalk Mail, the PMO statement.
It says he has spoken with the Chairman and Vice Minister of Railways, Railway Board and advised that all available resources are placed in rescue and relief efforts.
A statement said the Ministry of Railways has announced ex-gratia relief to the relatives of those killed and injured in these accidents.
